Lakme Fashion Week 2017, the Summer/Resort edition, has certainly impressed us with the designers’ artistic creations. This year, it focused on “inclusivity in fashion” with its shows, designers and models. Top designers like Ritu Kumar and Anita Dongre presented their equisite collections. Moreover, their collection was exclusively presented by some Bollywood stars. Here’s a glimpse of the celebrity showstoppers who walked the ramp at the fashion week edition in Mumbai-
1. Kareena Kapoor for Anita Dongre
Kareena Kapoor Khan was the showstopper for designer Anita Dongre at the finale of Lakme Fashion Week on February 5, 2017. The actress was seen wearing nude makeup. So, it perfectly complimented her outfit. She wore a white long dress along with a shimmery white jacket which made her look ecstatic. Hence, she looked royal in a beautiful beige ensemble.
2. Bipasha Basu for Falguni & Shane Peacock
Designer Duo Falguni and Shane Peacock had Bipasha Basu as their showstopper. She walked the ramp in a limited edition cape gown in mauve with Swarovski elements and hint of floral, motif and geometric lines in a classic silhouette. Furthurmore, it had a plunging neckline and floor-length cape sleeves. Also, her sleek ponytail, dark brown lips and heavy contour looked classic as she walked down the ramp.
3. Karishma Kapoor for Arpita Mehta
Karishma Kapoor, who walked the ramp for Arpita, opted for an all cream and chic summer look. The actress wore high-waisted pleated palazzo pants with a thread and mirror embroidered fringed crop top and jacket. Also,the nude makeup totally complimented the color of her outfit.
4. Varun Dhawan for Kunal Rawal
Varun Dhawan was the first celebrity to walk the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week 2017 for designer Kunal Rawal. He was seen dressed in a white embroidered outfit with a light jacket. Hence, Varun looked dapper as ever.
5. Vaani Kapoor for Ritu Kumar
Vaani Kapoor walked graciously for Ritu Kumar. She wore a beautifully designed and printed ghagra. Furthurmore, she paired it with a embroidered jacket over a golden bra top. Altogether, the outfit represented a lot of floral embroidery and prints. Also, she completed her look with a black choker, similar to what she wore in Befikre.
6. Preity Zinta for Sanjukta Dutta
Sanjukta Dutta reflected the communal harmony and serenity of Assam in her designs with her collection. Her show ‘Mekhela Chador’ at the Lakme Fashion Week 2017 became more vibrant with the presence of the ever-so gorgeous Preity Zinta. The actress walked down the runway sporting a very simple look wearing black and red sari with the highlights of gold motifs. Furthurmore, the temple border along with a backless blouse looked flawless.
7. Sushmita Sen for Vancapalli Sashi
Sushmita was the showstopper for Sashi Vangapalli for her label ‘Mugdha Art Studio’ at The 6Degree Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week, Summer/Resort 2017 where she looked beautiful in a majestic purple gown with an asymmetrical trail. The purple gown had a structured, embellished peplum bodice with crafted sleeves. Moreover, the asymmetrical trail truly charmed the spectators.
8. Aditi Rao Hydari for House of Kotwara
Aditi Rao Hydari was the first one to walk in the late evening show and yes, she dazzled as she strutted down in a beautiful glittering, black lehenga paired with a dazzling choli and embellished dupatta. Moreover, the lehenga boasted of a lot of handicraft work and embroidary. Hence, she looked like a royal princess in the outfit with the perfect pair of mang-tika and big earrings.
9. Malaika Arora Khan for Divya Reddy
Malaika Arora walked the ramp for Divya Reddy. She sported a simple red choli and embellished yellow layered lehenga from the star designer, Malaika looked like fire incarnate. Furthurmore, her look was complete with the gold choker, light-red lipstick, and a simple red bindi.
10. Nimrat Kaur for SVA Couture
Nimrat Kaur looked absolutely stunning as she walked the ramp for Sonam and Paras Modi. She wore a beautifully embellished lehenga in a deep shade of red with heavy embroidery for her turn on the ramp. Hence, she looked classy.
