Hyped or not, most of us are in the awe of the Valentine’s Day. But does that mean getting dressed up in pinks and reds looking perfectly like a candy? I know most of the gift stores and nightclubs are very well decked up in the red toned ambiance, still, you don’t need to blend into the background. There is no hardcore rule which says you have to wear red on Valentine’s Day and pink on Wednesdays, right? With utmost affection to these two colours, what I am urging is let us not look one of those and instead dress up in some other colours to celebrate this beautiful day. Scroll down to see how to not look like a candy on Valentine’s day.
1. PRETTY IN PANTONE
Okay, so here I am starting with the colour of the year which is Pantone or ultraviolet. Since this is the colour trend that is going to rule 2018 you must try your hands on this colour while it is ruling. Violet being the family member of pinks, will make you look perfectly dressed for Valentine’s and also would help you not mould with others.
2. COZ, BLACK IS BAE
Don’t go superstitious with the fact of not wearing black on this happy day. Black always tops for the date nights looks. Go for LBDs, sheer black tops and mesh skirts, black crop top or bralette tops with black high waisted pants and you are more than sorted by the date night look. You can never go wrong with black.
3. GOLD IS GOLD
Gold can never go out of fashion and we don’t even want them to fade. For the date night looks for the Valentine’s do choose gold over other regular colours. Also, break the so-called fashion rules and go for gold even for the brunch looks. Gold can be subtle and sultry both, so choose how do you want to look for your bae.
4. ALL THAT GLITTERS
Can we ever make a grand party without shimmers and glitters? Date nights on Valentine’s eve are really very special and you need a statement outfit for this night. From the glittered skirts to glittered dresses, you can choose any look that you want to create. Just try not to go OTT with your outfit and makeup.
5. IVORY FOR THE PRINCESS
Who said you can only radiate princess vibes in pinks! Ivory is the fresh colour trend which you need to try on Valentine’s eve. Some great options can be anything ruffles and frills in the ivory shade. These may be statement outfits alone making you stand out from the crowd.
6. LITTLE BIT OF LILAC
Lilac is one of the prettiest colours to wear on the Valentine’s Day. You can move over from pastel and powder pinks to lilac. Lilac, just like violet is a family member of pink and can be considered for this day. If you feel you are going low key with the colour, you can always highlight your look with a dazzling footwear and blingy accessories.
If you love reds and pinks ways too much and are finding it difficult to ditch them, you can always pop up your lips in Ruby Woo or Fuchsia pink shades. That is how you can dress up like a diva on the Valentine’s Day and not look like a candy.
