When you step out of your house, your skin, especially face is exposed to dirt, pollution, and heat. The dust and pollution can enter into your skin and can cause pimples and other skin problems so it becomes really very necessary to follow a daily skin care routine to keep your skin fresh and healthy.

Going to a saloon on a daily basis for facial, cleansing or de-tan is not possible.

Be it any skin type, normal, dry or oily, every girl should follow these steps on a daily basis, twice in a day.

Here are a few steps you can follow yourself for your daily skin care.

1. Cleansing

Cleansing the skin removes the oil, dirt, and pollutants that your skin collects throughout the day. It’s the first and the basic step in your daily skincare routine.

Throughout the day, your face is covered with the dirt, pollutants, bacteria, viruses and dead skin cells. Daily cleansing removes these impurities to give the skin, a fresh look.

Washing your face with water also comes under cleansing. You should develop a habit of cleaning your face with water as it keeps your skin hydrated throughout the day. Dehydrated skin looks and feels rough, wrinkled and aged. However, excess washing is also not recommended.

You can buy a cleansing milk according to your skin type I.e normal, dry or oily. The general guideline is to apply it using upward, circular motion so as to prevent wrinkles from forming. Make sure that your hands are clean in order to prevent excess dirt from entering into your skin.

Cleansing is also necessary to remove your makeup before going to bed. The skin renews itself while you sleep and when you leave makeup on, it clogs your pores and leads to the appearance of more acne and blackheads breakout.  It Can also cause various skin imperfections when left for hours during end at night.

2. Toning

The next step after cleansing the skin is to tone it.  Toning is an important addition to your skin care routine with beneficial effects for your skin. After you cleanse your skin, toner removes any residue left behind the cleanser as well as any makeup or oils your cleanser might have missed. It prepares your skin to absorb moisture and minimize the appearance of pores.

You have to apply it after cleansing. Take a wet cotton ball and apply timer on it. Then move it on your face gently in circles, paying special attention to your chin, nose, cheeks, and hairline. Repeat the step on a fresh cotton ball until you no longer see any dirt on it.

3. Moisturizing

Moisturizing is an essential part of daily skincare routine. It forms a barrier between the skin and environmental conditions, helping to form a fine, protective layer that enables the skin to retain the moisture it requires. This hydration is what gives your skin a smooth, luminous appearance.

You can choose a moisturizer based on your skin type. They come in the form of cream, gel, oil or lotion. You need to gently rub it into your skin in an upward motion. Once it is applied on your face, give it time to sync in so you receive its full benefits.

4. UV Protection Cream

Sunscreen, also known as sunblock and suntan lotion, is a lotion, spray, gel or other topical product that absorbs or reflects some of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation and thus helps protect against sunburn. There are so many reasons why should you apply sunscreen before you step out of the house.  Sunscreen acts as a shield from harmful UV rays, prevents premature aging, lowers skin cancer risk, prevents sunburns, prevents tanning and enhances the health of your skin. You may not notice the benefits now, but the advantage of using sunscreen is felt in the long run. You should always apply it 30 minutes before you leave from home as it takes time to absorb.An SPF of 15-30 is recommended.  It usually lasts up to two or three hours, depending on the SPF. You should reapply it after that. 

So these were the 4 easy steps that you should bring to your skincare routine. It will hardly take 5-10 minutes and will give you so many skin benefits in long-term. So, it’s never too late to implement them in your daily routine.
